COMMUNITY AND FAMILY CASE STUDIES (CFCS)

INTRODUCTION TO CFCS :

A major bulk of teaching in the undergraduate years is concentrated in the teaching and supervision of CFCS students. The former involves teaching of relevant public health theories for twelve weeks to Phase 2 undergraduates. With the assistance of post graduate students in Community Medicine, each academic staff is also assigned to supervise several groups of CFCS students for their community data collection, field placements, health intervention projects, report writing and presentation of community health development projects. For 2004 / 2005, members of the DCM were supervising CFCS students placed in the district of Tumpat (year 3: 14 groups) and Kota Bharu (year 2: 15 groups). They were assigned to groups of about 15 students each.
